A Snapshot of Your Day: - As a Product Design Engineer, you will join a team of experienced Generator Rotor and Exciter engineers who provide rapid and innovative solutions to repair and modernize customer owned power generation equipment. You will collaborate on the assessment of customer owned large (>100 MVA) synchronous generators and exciters sent to the Siemens Energy Charlotte Hub. Whether rapidly for unplanned outages or in advance for future projects, you will develop customer focused solutions for modernization or repair of generators and exciters with colleagues across teams.
How You'll Make an Impact: - Help customers return generation assets back to service by developing detailed design assessments, analysis, and engineering instructions to support manufacturing operations associated with the new manufacture and service repair of generator and exciter products.
- Collaborate across teams to provide technical advice, co-operative problem solving, and execution of design improvements.
- Perform reverse engineering as vital to support a wide range of customers and their equipment.
- Provide customers the support and information needed to decide the best path to return to operation.
What You Bring: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university/college.
- 5+ years of related engineering work experience required, those with more experience may be considered for a higher level (06 S40). Special focus on previous Synchronous Generator Rotor and Exciter experience.
- Excellent communication skills across audiences - customer, engineering, management, manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience in learning new software and IT tools, experience in SAP or Teamcenter a plus.
