Job Overview:APTIM Federal Services is currently seeking a Sr. Level Hydrogeologist to support projects within our various federal programs. Primary responsibilities will include the planning, implementation, and interpretation of Geologic and Hydrologic investigations for environmental characterization and remediation including preparation of Conceptual Site Models as related to fate and transport of various constituents. Other responsibilities may include preparation of work plans, recommendation and implementation of remedial actions, and completion of final reports. The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, government regulators, and APTIM colleagues alike. Strong people skills with a collaborative demeanor are a must. This position may be based out of our Concord, Irvine, or San Diego office locations.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:- Characterize the geologic conditions, structural composition, hydrologic character, contaminant types and distribution to evaluate risks and provide input for the design of appropriate remedial measures.
- Design and execute hydrologic testing to determine the hydrologic regime to define the character of groundwater aquifers, their capacity to produce water, their relative isolation and the fate and transport of contaminants (where present).
- Utilize groundwater modelling software to construct models, define input parameters, execute, and interpret results to predict future contaminant transport and fate.
- Design, perform and interpret tracer tests, tidal studies, single and multiple well pump tests, slug tests, passive flux, and packer testing.
- Have solid familiarity with state and federal regulations applicable to environmental investigations.
- Communicate field results and recommended course of action to Sr. management, client representatives and regulatory personnel.
- Ensure conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
- Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff; work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Always possess a "Safety First" work ethic.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or Engineering required.
- 15+ years of experience in the environmental field.
- Possess current registration as a Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG) in California.
- Advanced proficiency with various modeling software including but not limited to Visual Modflow, GMS, Aqtesolv, and Groundwater Vistas required.
- Possess 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

The targeted salary for this position is $130,000 - $145,000/YR
