About the RoleThe NetApp Field Engineer delivers turn-key solutions for NetApp and related vendor technologies and implements advanced services leveraging their expertise, primarily in NetApp.
What You'll Do• Deliver a turnkey NetApp storage system ready for data migration or advanced software configuration
• Support migration related products and technologies such as 7MTT, XCP, Dobi Migrate, DTA and secure copy/Storage-X. Plan, configure, execute and troubleshoot migration jobs.
• Implement disaster recovery, high-availability and asynchronous and synchronous mirroring
• Knowledge of host base migrations such as Storage Vmotion.
• Collaborate with engineers and managers in a team environment sharing best practices to meet high quality standards
• Effectively interact with customers to ensure quality results are delivered based on their program requirements
• Expert with FAS AFF & E-Series hardware
• Experience with controller upgrades (head swaps)
• Expert with ONTAP 9.0 and SANTricity OS
• Experience with OnCommand Insight - OCI, Cloud Products (CVO)- NetApp BlueXP and StorageGrid configuration.
• Support switch to switchless conversion (Cisco, Broadcom, Nvidia)
• Install and configure MetroCluster - fabric attached, stretched, IP
What We're Looking For• Support configuration for current NetApp Infrastructures to include on-premise, hybrid and cloud solutions.
• Understanding of Altavault virtual appliance, Flexpod architecture and VMware
• Familiarity with public clouds such as AWS, Azure
• Scripting skills - Python, PowerShell, etc. are a plus
• 3+ Years of relevant work experience
• Must be able to analyze complex computer systems and to custom design and develop systems to meet customer needs
• Background with virtualization and hypervisors
Education & Certifications
• NS0-162 NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP
• NS0-184 NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer, ONTAP (NCSIE ONTAP)
Preferred
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) [Routing & Switching, Cloud, or Data Center]
• VMware VCP
• CompTIA Server+
• Azure Administrator Associate - Microsoft Certified
Salary Range RequirementActual annual compensation offered will be based on several variables including geographic location, work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $91,600 or more depending on experience
