Description Leidos is looking for a Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI with polygraph to support work on an information technology (IT) contract.
T he contract supports leading the engineering, delivery, sustainment, and evolution of the client's broader Information Technology (IT) in support of its mission. The client's office leadership provides management and leadership for a wide spectrum of activities. Office lines of business include Collaboration Services, Endpoint & Security Services, Infrastructure Engineering and Hosting, Mission Unique Services, and Business Management.
The Systems Engineer will analyze internal and external client needs and construct sound, logical business improvement opportunities that are consistent with corporate Information Management guiding principles, cost savings, and system architecture objectives. They will provide group facilitation, training, and provide additional forms of knowledge transfer across client's organization; collect, review, edit, and disseminate executive-level communication products, to include written documents, briefings, and talking points; use their technical skills and experience to further current service offerings and client's mission; and analyze system requirements to determine approach and feasibility of design within time, cost, and security requirement constraints.
The Systems Engineer will provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms; troubleshoot complex problems; and provide customer support for software systems and application issues. They will collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and engineers and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. The core hours shall be 9:00AM - 3:00PM PST. Weekend or after-hours support may be required for operational issues, deployments and critical activities.
The work will vary based on site specific requirements, but shall include, as applicable, the following types of activities:
- Supporting large scale IT systems, identifying their dependencies and interoperability, and reviewing end-user use cases.
- Preparing cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses.
- Communicating complex technical concepts and project information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working seamlessly with contractors from other organizations, as well as with staff at all levels.
- Analyzing internal and external customer needs and construct sound, logical business improvement opportunities that are consistent with corporate Information Management guiding principles, cost savings, and system architecture objectives.
- Providing group facilitation, interviewing, training, and provide additional forms of knowledge transfer across client's organization.
- Collecting, reviewing, editing, and disseminating executive-level communication products, to include written documents, briefings, and talking points.
- Utilizing technical skills and experience to further current service offerings and client's mission.
- Experience analyzing system requirements to determine approach and feasibility of design within time, cost, and security requirement constraints.
- Perform the physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software to include external peripherals that may be required.
- Project Management support for all new initiatives relating to the various systems supported.
- Troubleshoot desktop and network anomalies and contact the appropriate groups for additional support.
- Serve as technical liaison between the site and the appropriate technical business areas for resolution of IT issues and system upgrades.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build workstations per established procedures.
- Manage software and hardware support as needed.
- Maintain access control by creating new user accounts, maintain existing accounts, and troubleshoot user login or access issues.
- Monitor server activities and provide technical support that requires expert knowledge using advanced technical principles.
Provide on-site network support, maintain and troubleshoot all on-site networking hardware.
- Maintain documentation and influence team and others through created common solutions.
- Video Conferencing support
- Maintain operational status of all phone systems.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to get building installation and maintenance completed.
- Assist with maintaining access control systems and alarm system accesses as needed.
- Escort service vendors/contractors as needed.
- FedEx and UPS Shipment.
- After hours response/resolution for technical issues and high precedence responses
- Awareness to HVAC issues for management of systems and technical interface with local HVAC service provider.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to be considered.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and minimum 12+ years of experience OR 15 yrs+ experience can be used in lieu of degree.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field and successful software engineering experience; of if no degree, relevant experience performing engineering functions in the field on programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.
- Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience with UPS systems and AD/DC power systems, to include design or install/connection.
- Working knowledge of CAT5, CAT6 cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabrication of equipment.
- Knowledge of fiber, servers, routers, edge switches and desktop hardware.
- JIRA, ServiceNow, Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office.

Pay Range: Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
