Description The Health & Civil Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a
Logistics and Implementation Lead to work in our Gaithersburg, MD office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Transportation Solutions Business Area in our mission.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Implementation functions for the Leidos Transportation Solutions (TS) Business Area.
TS performs full life-cycle mission critical system development primarily in the civil transportation market in the US and Internationally. Systems are typically a combination of application software, COTS workstations, servers, networking equipment, displays, racks, and inside cabling.
TS programs include FAA Air Traffic Control Systems, International Air Traffic Management Systems, and Communication/Navigation/Surveillance Systems.
The Logistic and implementation functions include site surveys, site preparation support, shipping, production, site deployment and installation, checkout, sparing, repair, equipment storage, and training. The Logistics and Implementation function serves as a centralized matrixed function responsible for executing the implementation life-cycle phase for all programs in TS. This includes the planning, resourcing, execution, risk/quality management, and coordination with Leidos internal program personnel (PMs, Engineering, purchasing, etc) as well as external customers.
The TS Logistics and Implementation Lead needs to be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives. They need to be able to grasp the inter-relationships of organizations and must have the ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with a variety of people including customers, management, peers, and delegates. Additionally, they need to have strong programmatic skills, experience managing multiple programs simultaneously, and strong background in system site deployment and logistics.
The Logistics and Implementation Lead is responsible for:
- Planning work and overseeing execution in accordance with schedule and cost
- Resource planning and management including both Leidos employees as well as subcontracts and consulting employees.
- Organize and Coordinate ILS and implementation activities among internal Leidos stakeholders such as Depot, Hardware Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Network Engineering, Test, Quality Assurance and Configuration Management and customer stakeholders such Implementation Lead and FAA facility leadership.
- Ensure quality of work product, meet internal and customer driven SLAs and/or requirements Accountability to various Leidos PMs for success of programs.
- Customer PoC for the overall ILS and implementation function; this could include serving as key personnel and/or program lead directly on a program.
- Creating cost efficiencies through cross-program opportunities, technology/tools/process innovations, resource/subcontractor management, schedule optimization, and supply chain.
- Coordinate implementation function status, costs/schedule variances, risks with Leidos PMs and customers.
- Cost Account Management skills to oversee budget and schedule within program office parameters.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 12+ years of professional experience
- Program/functional management experience 5+ years
- Experience managing implementation and logistics functions for complex systems
- US citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to demonstrate a commitment to personal and corporate excellence, ethical behavior and integrity
- Prior experience in a technical leadership role that requires significant coordination across multiple functional areas. Prior experience with cost accounting / earned value management/ownership Planning and Cost estimating experience
- Experience in team building, customer focus
- Travel required up to 10%
Desired Qualifications: - Previous National Air Space (NAS) and FAA implementation experience in FAA operational facilities such as ARTCCs, TRACONs and Air Traffic Control Towers
- Familiarity with Air Traffic systems
- Familiarity executing against US Government contracts.

Pay Range: Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
