Kennedy Jenks is seeking a collaborative Wastewater Process Lead Engineer, serving as a subject matter expert for clients and project teams across the firm. This position will apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis for solution development, effectively communicate with all stakeholders and levels, and will manage projects focused on wastewater process. Key Responsibilities: - This position will be responsible for projects focused on detailed design and project management of small to large civil infrastructure projects including, but not limited to, wastewater, sanitary sewer collection systems, pump stations and wastewater treatment processes and plants.
- Design and optimize wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical and biological treatment systems, to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Guide, mentor, and/or lead process design in feasibility studies, facility plans, and process pilot testing for complex wastewater projects.
- Support client service managers and business development efforts, serving as a technical subject matter expert at in-person and virtual meetings and project interviews.
- Participate in project pursuits and interviews, including developing treatment process innovations, technical approach, and scope items.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering. Advanced degree strongly preferred
- 15+ years of experience in wastewater treatment engineering
- Practical professional engineer (PE) license required. License in one or multiple states (CA, CO, FL, HI, OR, TX, VA, WA) preferred
- Wastewater process experience with strong technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Design-Build experience a plus but not required
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
This is a fully remote position that requires frequent travel across California. Candidates in the Pacific Time Zone are preferred.
