We are currently searching for a motivated
Mechanical Engineer to support our
West Gulf Region in
Monroe, LA.
What you'll be doing:- Pipeline facility design (metering and regulating stations, storage field upgrades, and compressor stations) including plans, sections, detail, associated bill of materials, and related pipeline design
- Performing relief valve capacity calculations and sizing regulators and control valves
- Calculations for studies and reports
- Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
- Mark up as-built drawings, alignment sheets, & P&IDs
- Regularly meet and correspond with clients and relevant project stakeholders
- Provide short term field support during construction
- Proactively improve technical skills and stay up to date with new technology through training, attendance at industry meetings and development of effective relationships both internal and external to Volkert
- Travel required depending on project demands
What you need to have:- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required
- 3 - 6 years related engineering experience in the natural gas industry
- Completed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or registered PE required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with gas measurement/regulation design is required
- Oil & Gas construction experience (Desired)
- Working knowledge of GIS software (Desired)
- Proficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong focus on safe work practices
- Demonstrates intermediate proficiency in technical subjects
- Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8
