Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position, you will partner with the sales team to grow our direct advertising business. Reporting into the Director, Sales Strategy, this role will serve as a key member of the advertising team managing the pre-sale and RFP process.

Successful candidates will have knowledge and a passion for digital media, strong attention to detail and the ability to bring ideas to life through presentations.

Are you up to the challenge?

• Manage a team of Sales Planners responsible for preparing advertising proposals including but not limited to providing clients with research, rates, inventory availability and creative specifications.
• Develop a strong understanding of the full suite of U.S. News ad products and capabilities while also thinking creatively about new solutions to meet RFP requirements.
• Support the sales process and assist in moving the sale from RFP to Insertion Order.
• Ensure that the team is managing deadlines and meeting client expectations.
• Lead RFP meetings to brainstorm ideas that match our client objectives and KPIs.
• Attend sales calls as needed to assist the sales team in pitching our proposal.
• Stay on top of innovations and industry best practices.
• Responsible for creating compelling sales materials and presentations to be used by the sales team.

Position Requirements

You should definitely have:

• Three years to five years of similar or related experience; publisher experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with reporting tools such as ComScore and Google Analytics, as well as experience with a DMP and an inventory management platform
• Detail oriented and organized with a strong ability to prioritize, multitask and perform under deadlines
• Must have excellent oral and written communication and be able to translate design skills into comprehensive proposal and brand decks
• An optimistic, go-getter attitude with a desire to work for a growing team and company

• In New York City, the anticipated base salary for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
