The Modeling and Simulation Analyst will be part of a dynamic team supporting research and engineering on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, and Mark Center officers in nearby Alexandria, Virginia. Serco supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (USD) for Research and Engineering (USD R&E) and Acquisition and Sustainment (USD A&S). Our subject matter experts are on the cutting edge to investigate, simulate and analyze game changing concepts, applications of technology, new military systems and operations to ensure US advantage in future military conflicts.
You will be part of a team responsible for high visibility engagements with stakeholders impacting national security and the defense capabilities of the United States. You will work closely with customers and other Serco teams to rapidly deliver quality simulations, visualizations, and mission analytic solutions recognized by DoD and industry as outstanding across the Defense enterprise.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- Perform engineering design evaluations.
- Develop a range of products.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Provide program scenarios, system models, behaviors, and Artificial Intelligence for investigating military operations in simulation environments.
- Perform experiments of new concepts and system applications in simulated military wargames.
- Perform data reduction and present analytical results.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active DoD Top Secret with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related technical field
- 2 years of software development experience (preferably scripting languages, Python, R programming language, C++, Lua, etc.)
- A passion for programming, war-gaming, and military modeling & simulations
- Capability to self-direct efforts
- Capability to research areas for additional insight
- Proficiency developing presentation products in MS Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills
- Ability to travel up to 10%
