Your Key Responsibilities

Our Electrical Engineers research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects of a complex nature. . . The role includes:
  • You design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial water and wastewater purposes
  • You prepare layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • You lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors
  • You approve and prepare proposals and cost estimates and evaluate all project progress and recommends changes
  • You perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource to other team members.
  • You represent project work in client meetings and continues to cultivate relationships with client organizations
  • You develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all project sizes, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
  • You contribute to the development of new standards and specifications of electrical design.
  • You may supervise the work of other project resources, including setting the project budget and their schedules for completing the work in conjunction with Project Manager(s).
  • You are an Engineer of record on own work product, work of non-licensed engineers and technologist.


Your Capabilities
  • Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of industry standards as well as electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of electrical material specifications and procurement
  • Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, particularly in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Well-versed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Auto Desk products (i.e. AutoCAD, BIM360). Familiarity with Revit is a plus but not a requirement.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Specialization in water/wastewater facility design
  • Experience with the development of schematic control diagrams and block diagrams
  • Experience with distribution systems operating at 120/208V, 480V, and 4160V
  • Experience with specialized power system software such as ETAP and SKM PowerTools is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience with the construction phase of the project, including but not limited to shop drawing reviews, RFI reviews, and field inspections
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or an engineer in training (EIT) with plans to pursue a PE license

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
