JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a self-motivated, hands-on Senior Network Engineer to work under the supervision of the Director of Network Services. The role includes network engineering and operations work across Fox's business units (Corporate, News, and TV).

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proper planning of upgrades and changes; perform code upgrades
  • Update documentation, procedures, diagrams, circuit IDs, etc.
  • Liaise with Network Services team and end-users on day-to-day issues
  • React to Network Monitoring platform alerts - identify, diagnose, and resolve network-related service problems
  • Coordinate with vendors (e.g., down circuit, equipment replacement)
  • Produce support and operational documentation
    • Develop deployment, testing, and rollback plans
    • Author How-To's
  • Work with ServiceNow tickets and ensure closure as per SLA
  • Strive for continuing education in the fields of networking and unified communications


WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Background in internetwork, LAN, and WAN, with a recent focus on Arista technologies
    • Automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible, Git) are required
    • CloudVision-as-a-Service (CVaaS)
  • Expert in switching, routing, and troubleshooting concepts (e.g., BFP, Multicast, OSPF)
  • Thorough understanding of layer 2/layer 3 networking details, OSPF/BGP routing, VLANs, trunking, port-aggregation, static routing, upgrade processes
  • Experience with: Spine-leaf Architecture (EVPN-VXLAN and SD-WAN)
  • Knowledge of wiring, racking, cross connects
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto firewall & security concepts
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, VPC, Direct Connect/Transit Gateways)
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds (i.e., rack mounting/movement of computer equipment)
  • Occasional domestic travel; 25%

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $95,000.00-156,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
