Location: Corporate Office: North Bay or Sudbury Ontario, or Vancouver, BC.

Hybrid Work Schedule: Remote Option - Monday & Friday / In-Office - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

General Purpose of This Position:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the position focuses on efficiently managing and overseeing contract development and execution, implementing change management strategies, reviewing Client contractual terms for tenders and drafting contractual qualifications and amendments for bids and existing contracts. The role also involves refining contract management processes, training team members, and facilitating effective communication during organizational changes. It is suited for a proactive professional skilled in contract negotiation and change management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Health & Safety
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation
  • Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.
  • Ensure the measures and procedures prescribed by the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations are carried out in the workplace.
  • Participate in the office safety program.


General Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of contract development, execution, and analysis for maximum operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and oversee change management strategies related to contract processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Participate in negotiations of complex contracts, focusing on strategic alliances, joint ventures, and high-value procurement agreements.
  • Advise on the interpretation of contract terms and conditions, ensuring they align with corporate objectives and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual compliance and address any discrepancies or issues.
  • Develop and refine contract management tools, processes, and best practices, incorporating change management techniques to drive organizational acceptance.
  • Oversee contract compliance audits, risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mining industry standards, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and inform change management strategies.
  • Train and mentor team members in contract management and change management principles.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between departments and external stakeholders during periods of change.
  • Review Client contractual terms for tenders.
  • Draft contractual qualifications for bids and contractual amendments for contracts.
  • Draft notices and other correspondence with regards to commercial and contract issues.
  • Manage project scope or specification changes, ensuring that costs and schedules are updated accordingly. Work closely with Lead Project Controller, Commercial Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that all changes are properly evaluated and managed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Travel Requirements:
  • This position has the requirement for frequent travel to our project sites and offices.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field.
  • Advanced degree or certification in Contract Management or Change Management preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration, with a focus on the mining industry.
  • Proven experience in implementing change management strategies within an organizational setting.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
