POSITION SUMMARY:**We will hire at either the Senior HRBP or HRBP level, commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.
The Senior HR Business Partner provides exceptional service to internal and external customers visiting the HR Department at Sinai Hospital. Client groups could include a mix of clinical, allied health, and non-clinical departments at Sinai and/or Grace Medical Center.
The HRBP will have approximately 800 FTEs to support across their respective client groups.
Essential Functions: - Embraces a diverse workforce.
- Understands and maintains confidentiality.
- Mentors and guides assigned HR Generalists in the development of their HR knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Provides guidance and support to assigned departments (combination of factors to include: multiple incumbents in multiple job families; possibly union; spanning multiple locations; high physician interaction, etc.) in the management of their employees as it relates to Recruitment, Benefits, HR policies, Employee Relations and Compensation.
- Effectively utilizes all available HR metrics and other resources to develop recommendations and possible solutions to human resource issues affecting client departments.
- Uses understanding of the relationship between human capital and hospital outcomes, data and other HR tools to recommend, influence and develop HR related plans for their client department leaders. Also utilize clear understanding of how each client department contributes to and supports LBH goals and any challenges and opportunities affecting department's performance - so they can partner with department leadership to develop effective HR related plans and initiatives.
- The Sr. HRBP will coach, educate, guide and advise managers on ways to become effective leaders so that they can achieve desired business outcome. - listen and acknowledge manager's ideas and request, providing them with impact analysis (positive and negative) and influence them to make solid, effective and strategic business decisions.
- Partner with managers to operationalize current HR strategies and initiatives to their fullest effect.
- Escalate significant (precedent setting) issue to Sr. HR Leadership as appropriate
- Educate, guide and advise employees towards thoughtful, successful outcomes. Serve as an advocate when necessary to ensure leaders are providing consistent and fair application of policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: - Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- Bachelor's degree and 6 + years professional HR experience. Will consider 10+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues in lieu of a bachelor's degree, preferably to include Union experience
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
- 5-7 years of experience
- SHRM certification preferred
