Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an experienced, Board Certified Director of Medical Oncology to exemplify leadership, vision, and clinical knowledge to build the pre-eminent cancer center in Central New Jersey. Supported by our Hackensack Meridian Health Care Transformation Service and physician leadership, the Medical Director will perform direct patient care and will have oversight of the overall clinical care of medical oncology at the cancer center. The Medical Director also will collaborate with the John Theurer Cancer Center on overall care of HMH cancer patients. This is an excellent leadership opportunity within our thriving health network.

Opportunity Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive leadership in clinical, educational and programmatic activities, overseeing quality care, policy implementation, interdisciplinary patient management, and integration efforts across multiple campus locations, while advancing clinical research and community engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional patient care and ensure the quality of care through implementation and oversight of quality management programs and processes.
- Foster positive relationships within the department, clinic and the community.
- Actively participate in educational programs and initiatives - teach, supervise and instruct oncology physicians, residents and fellows.
- Maintain high standards in clinical research practices - lead clinical development programs, monitor data integrity and safety, serve as a clinical expert, stay current in therapeutic advancements and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the development of a medical oncology/hematology program in the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine.
- Provide on-call coverage to medical oncology patients, with night and weekend calls on a rotating basis with other medical oncology physicians.
Opportunity Requirements:
- M.D./D.O. degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School
- Board Certified in medical oncology, additional certification in hematology/internal medicine a plus
- Have or have the ability to obtain a New Jersey Medical License
- Valid DEA, CDS
- Minimum 7 years clinical experience
- Practicing medical oncologist
- Previous experience in clinical leadership required
- Active interest in the development and conduct of clinical trials and fellow and resident education.
