Overview
In this full time, clinical physician lead role, under supervision of the CMO, you will have several clinical responsibilities, along with some specified administrative responsibilities. While providing day-to-day clinical care to residents residing in facilities as well as home bound patients, you will practice and role-model ethical and evidence-based decision-making to promote the vision and mission of the company to other practitioners and staff.
Part-time and consulting options are also available for this role.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality complex and geriatric care to residents and patients across settings in partnership with non-physician practitioner and other interprofessional team members to an identified panel of patients across various assisted living and skilled nursing facilities
- Keeps high engagement with facility leadership teams, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, patients, and families
- Provides collaborating physician duties for on average of 5 but up to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants (based on state regulatory parameters) to support them in their clinical roles
- Based on state and regional regulatory frameworks, audits up to 10% of practitioner medical orders and/ or documentation for each provider monthly
- If needed, assumes medical directorships for skilled and/or other senior living facilities
- Helps identify new growth opportunities with skilled facilities and/or other senior living facilities in the market/region
- Participates in company frontline /backup call processes for timely response to acute changes of condition to prevent avoidable hospital transfers, or to meet other clinical needs
- Keeps a high focus on quality outcomes including but not limited to care path compliance and productivity, prevention of avoidable transfers and decrease in polypharmacy and costs of care
- Attends required trainings, and meetings as mandated by the CMO or other leaders to assure best care delivery by the company
Education/Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and is a Doctor of Medicine
- Two or more years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare
- Clinical medical experience of seven years or more preferred
Certifications/License/Other Special Requirements
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics; qualification in Geriatrics preferred
- Practicing physician currently licensed under the provisions of the State Board of Medicine
- Active unrestricted licensure to practice in state of employment
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration
