Banner Lassen Medical Center, close to Northern CA national parks, Reno, and Lake Tahoe, is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in orthopedics, demonstrating the ability to independently evaluate and manage patients, provide support in the operating room, and assist in clinic settings. This position offers a unique opportunity for autonomy while collaborating closely with our orthopedic surgeon.
Responsibilities:
- Independently round on and evaluate orthopedic patients, providing comprehensive care and treatment recommendations.
- Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety in the operating room.
- Collaborate with the orthopedic surgeon and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and support, addressing questions and concerns related to orthopedic conditions and treatments.
- Manage patient care independently during periods when the surgeon is off-campus, maintaining open communication and consulting with the surgeon as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient cases and optimize care delivery.
- Contribute to the advancement of orthopedic practice through participation in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in CA.
- Certification as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner (ONP-C) or Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in orthopedics, with proficiency in both surgical and non-surgical management of orthopedic conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient care needs, including occasional weekend coverage.
