Guthrie Lourdes is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented experienced Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Guthrie Lourdes Hospital Orthopedics team.            

As a Guthrie Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you play an important role in caring for our patients while acting as a patient advocate and collaborating with physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as Guthrie Specialists throughout the strong referral Network.  

Highlights of the Position

  • Responsibilities
    • A full time fast-paced position that includes clinical outpatient assessments, initial and follow-ups, inpatient rounding and surgical assists in the OR. 
    • Implementing treatment plans at the direction of orthopedic surgeon. 
    • Prescribing medications and treatments. 
    • Providing patient education and counseling.
    • First call shared equally. 
    • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. 
    • Experience as an orthopedic APP is required.

  • Qualifications
    • Current license in New York State.
    • Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program. Certification as a RNFA required for experienced Nurse Practitioner candidates.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
