This is a unique opportunity to be part of the largest hospital system in Arkansas, with twelve hospitals, including the flagship 850-bed facility in Little Rock.

Why Join Baptist Health?

Baptist Health has been a leader in cardiovascular services in Arkansas for nearly 50 years, pioneering advancements such as:

The Baptist Health Heart Failure and Transplant Institute, established in 2010, is Arkansas first and only center focused exclusively on advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support (MCS), and transplant. As the only adult heart-transplant provider in the state, the institute has performed 333 heart transplants to date and is following over 200 post-transplant patients. We have also implanted over 500 patients with a HeartMate device and are following over 200 VAD patients.

The program recently launched the first formal statewide Shock/ECMO program, averaging 65+ ECMO cases annually.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to:

  • Provide inpatient, outpatient, and critical care services to heart failure, MCS, and transplant patients.
  • Engage in referrals from across the state to our growing advanced heart failure center, which receives over 600 new referrals annually.
  • Contribute to a robust program, with interests in pulmonary hypertension, amyloid, and sarcoid fully supported.

Practice Resources:

The clinic, built in 2010, spans nearly 10,000 square feet and includes:

  • 13 exam rooms
  • Dedicated support staff including 4 VAD nurses, 3 transplant nurses, 6 heart failure nurses, 2 physician assistants, 3 advanced practice nurses, a social worker, PharmD, dietician, transplant administrator, financial manager, data coordinator, and clerical support.
  • On-site Echo, lab, x-ray, and cardiopulmonary stress testing.
  • Strong support for clinical research.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
  • Strong interest in developing a heart failure, MCS, and transplant-focused practice.
  • A passion for advancing a dynamic and growing heart failure program.
