GENERAL SUMMARY 

Munson Healthcare and the partnering Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking a BE/BC physician to join our team of 4 cardiothoracic physicians and 9 advanced practice providers.  

Munson Healthcare is northern Michigans largest healthcare system, caring for a half million lives. Munson Medical Center, located in Traverse City Michigan is the only level II trauma tertiary center with over 600 heart cases annually and 200 TAVRs.  In this position you will join a team of knowledgeable and skilled medical staff representing more than 76 specialties, working in a collaborative, quality, patient-centered environment. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS  

  • Enjoy a busy, growing, and quality-focused practice encapsulating a broad spectrum of adult cardiothoracic surgery including advanced valve repair, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, complex cardiac surgeries, reoperations, aortic dissection, VATS lobectomies, and esophagectomies
  • Expertise or keen interest in structural heart, endografts, and mitral valve repair welcome
  • Obtaining additional skills in newer procedures is supported by surgeons and hospital
  • Competitive compensation package, including signing bonus and relocation
  • Be fully integrated into the group from the outset with an early path to partnership, receiving a proportionate number of cases
  • Approximately 600 cardiac operations, 100 general thoracic operations, and 200 TAVRs per year
  • Certification by the ABTS required

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Board certified or board eligible physician 
  • MI license or eligible for medication licensure in the State of Michigan
