Job Summary:
We are seeking friendly, helpful team members to welcome and assist customers in the store. A Floor Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting daily store operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a friendly and outgoing demeanor, and a willingness to learn about Ace Hardware's products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products and providing product information.
  • Address customer inquiries and professionally resolve any issues or complaints.
  • Provide recommendations and advice based on customer needs and preferences.
Sales:
  • Assist customers with purchases and promote additional products.
  • Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and ensure proper handling of cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintain knowledge of ongoing promotions, sales, and product features.
Merchandising:
  • Stock shelves, ensure products are correctly labeled and priced, and maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor.
  • Assist in setting up displays, end caps, and special promotional areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
Store Maintenance:
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, backroom, and common areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are followed and report any hazards to management.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals and objectives.
  • Assist in training new employees and sharing knowledge of products and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
Additional Duties:
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and processing incoming shipments.
  • Help with special events, sales, and community outreach programs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
