The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating cranes (hydro cranes, lattice boom crawler cranes, and/or pile driving hammers) to hoist, move and place materials and objects.RequirementsResponsibilities :Operate construction equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulationsPerform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipmentOperate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of propertyConduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and lubricate, refill and clean equipment as necessary Operation of levers and pedals to raise, lower and rotate boom and to raise and lower load linesRaise, lower and rotate boom or load by sight or according to signals from helperWork within precise limits and standards of accuracyResponsible for ensuring that the rigging being used is appropriate for the work being performed and ensures that it is being used correctlyComplete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork neatly and accurately Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting loadsOperate equipment in various situations, maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundingsReport needs for large repairs to appropriate partiesPerform other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictatesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Be able to work independently in the absence of supervisionDemonstrate effective interpersonal communication skillsRead and comprehend department regulations, policies, and standard operating proceduresBe versatile and have a cooperative attitude as they may be asked to do other jobs on construction sites when they are not operating a craneExperience/Qualifications: Minimum three years of operating cranes in a construction environment Pile driving experience is highly desirable. Experience on multiple pieces of construction equipment is preferred. Current NCCCO certification with TLL and LBC required. Possess a valid driver license. CDL is preferred. Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.
