We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Art Director for a full-time, termed position in the Marketing Department at Pursuit. This role involves understanding the creative vision of Pursuit and its iconic collections. The Art Director will ensure alignment between the marketing team and the creative team, overseeing brand cohesion across functional, operational, and consumer-facing marketing and creative needs. This position is dedicated to the iconic collection and reports to the Senior Manager of Creative at Pursuit.
The ideal Art Director will possess a natural acumen for graphic design paired with strong interpersonal collaboration, and communication skills. They will leverage meaningful creative strategies for each project. We are looking for a team member who can inspire and be inspired by others, making our creative efforts dynamic and ensuring they reflect the brand's highest potential while seamlessly connecting with the guest and the experience. A passion for creative and visual communication is essential.
What will you do in this job?Quality & Standards
- Establish and uphold high-quality standards of creative output
- Review and approve copy, design, photography, revisions, refinement, production and execution
- Ensure teams adhere to strategically engaging creative as a shared service while following current processes, identifying opportunities for innovation
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, graphic designers and copywriters
- Collaborate with internal marketing, sales, and support services teams (such as brand, content and copy, social media, digital and web, performance marketing and email communications)
- Attend and participate in creative roadmap, kickoff, and production meetings as needed
- Communicate a strong creative vision with the ability to present creative concepts, approaches, styles, and techniques for team discussion and approval
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Vision & Strategy
- Work with the entire team to achieve a holistic creative vision, elevate innovative creative opportunities, and establish a unified brand understanding and company voice
- Maintain the creative integrity and a high standard of design for Pursuit and the house of brands across multiple geographies
- Oversee the presentation of final concepts and coordinate production and dissemination where needed for multi-functional use
- Maintain a continuous collaboration with the Senior Manager of Creative at Pursuit to ensure brand alignment and aesthetic consistency of creative output
Creative Execution
- Interpreting creative and project briefs to develop design solutions that meet marketing communication needs and business objectives
- Design key marketing collateral, integrated campaign concepts, and operational creative requirements in direct collaboration with in-geography marketing team members
- Handle creative projects from start to finish, maintaining a high standard of brand and design through brainstorming, execution, proofing, revisions, and final production
What skills and experience do you need for this job?- Four (4) or more years of professional experience in graphic design, with two (2) or more years in an art director in a manager-level role
- Mastery level understanding and capabilities within industry-leading design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, multimedia design platforms and experience in both print and digital applications
- Impeccable attention to detail and capabilities in typography, layout and information hierarchy
- Experience leading a skilled team of creatives with a strong creative point-of-view aligned to business objectives
- Excellent people skills and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Adaptability to work with varied target audiences in different geographical markets
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting project deliverables on time
- Strong time management and capability to prioritize daily workflow to accommodate needs and meet due dates as required
- An up-to-date design portfolio that demonstrates a strong foundation and understanding of key principles of graphic design
- B.A. Degree or Diploma in Design or Visual Arts program, an asset
- Copywriting and/or proofreading experience is a strong plus
