Who we're looking forSlalom is looking for an experienced Business Strategist (Principal - Senior Principal) for its Strategy team in the DFW area. This role focuses on broad-based enterprise-wide as well as business-unit-level strategies. As a Business Strategist, you will demonstrate a clear understanding of the client's strategy, architecture (including capabilities, maturity level, gaps), and operating business environment from both an internal and external perspective to design strategies that drive our client outcomes and position our clients for success. What You'll Do- Focus on Expertise: Help lead growth across Strategy by identifying and guiding the development of offerings that expand the capability's breadth and depth. You will demonstrate expertise in the development of objectives, key results, and initiatives that will shape our growth trajectory.
- Strategy Development: Lead a team of strategy consultants and work directly with clients to define their questions, structure the team's approach to problem solving, guide the team to develop insights and recommendations, and quantify results. You will also guide and develop team members' consulting skillset (e.g. hypothesis development, analysis output, storytelling, financial modeling, etc.) while on a project.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate robust relationships with senior client executives and leaders. Your ability to connect and collaborate will be instrumental in driving success.
- People Development: You may also take on a people leader role. In this role, you will coach and mentor new consultants, guide their career path, and help them achieve their development goals.
What You'll Bring- Significant consulting and/or professional services leadership experience.
- A proven track record of success selling and delivering Strategy & Operations work to a variety of clients.
- A strong balance between big picture/strategic thinking and ability to execute.
- Demonstrated industry-specific experience. Ability to speak to key trends, growth factors, competitive landscape, and investment areas. Ability to provide own perspective on the market outlook.
- Experience leading corporate strategy engagements (e.g. build / buy / partner assessment, new market entry, investment ROI evaluation, etc.).
- Experience leading business unit strategy engagements (e.g. growth strategy, product strategy, go-to-market assessment, project ROI evaluation, etc.).
- Proven success in all aspects of strategy project delivery - hypothesis development, usage of analysis frameworks, market research, operational performance assessments, storyboarding, slide creation, financial / quantitative modeling.
- Ability to effectively manage teams and relationships across multiple clients.
