Job DescriptionSr. Project Manager - Public Works/Water ResourcesJoin Doucet, A Kleinfelder Company, and embark on an exciting opportunity to enhance our Public Works/Water Resources team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role, collaborating closely with all levels of management, technical experts, and construction leaders. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful execution and completion of client projects, primarily serving local governments, the Texas Water Development Board, and the General Land Office. This role offers ample potential for career growth and advancement within the company.
Project types and duties include stormwater master planning, stormwater infrastructure improvements design, streambank and stream channel protection design, guiding hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including 2D and unsteady state modeling, floodplain mapping, water quality & LID design, bridge and culvert hydraulics and design, sediment transport analysis, local and regional stormwater impact and mitigation analysis, and detention/retention design.
Responsibilities:- Proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, guiding and mentoring team members to perform complex modeling.
- Stormwater quality management: Design and plan measures to reduce pollution from existing urban areas to protect rivers and lakes, from regional level studies to small-scale site designs.
- Flood mitigation planning: Develop potential solutions to flooding, ranging from green infrastructure planning and non-structural practices like buyouts to large-scale master drainage planning and the analysis/design of detention and conveyance facilities.
- Watershed ordinance and drainage criteria manual preparation, including collaboration with local governments, engineers, and the public to update criteria for property, infrastructure, and water quality protection.
- Coastal water quality planning: Familiarity with the Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan, coastal processes, and coastal community needs.
- Project management: Lead multi-discipline teams working on complex projects.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Role will include collaboration and leadership in Business Development (BD).
- Role will include managing employees.
Preferred:- Demonstrated experience and expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling on scales from large river basins to small sites.
- Flood risk reduction through mitigation.
- Stream stabilization/restoration: Implement natural channel design approaches to address eroded banks and safeguard infrastructure.
- Coastal water quality planning: Familiarity with the Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan, coastal processes, and coastal community needs.
Qualifications and Experience:- 10+ years' experience in public works studies and designs, stream stability, streambank protection designs, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater quality management, and water resources planning.
- Master of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain it within six months from the start date.
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) License.
- Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, Bentley StormCAD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, and 2D modeling (RAS, XPSMWM, Innovyze InfoWorks ICM).
