Job Description

The Duracell LaGrange Engineering organization develops, designs, and delivers technologies and automation solutions that improve our products and manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead control system designs on new equipment or optimizations on existing equipment.
  • Implement/support various automated controls technologies including PLC systems, control and communication networks, SCADA (server and standalone) systems, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor technologies.
  • Partner with plant technicians, engineers, and equipment vendors to deliver control systems upgrades that provide optimal equipment operation to produce quality products at the lowest cost while maintaining the safety of people who interact with equipment. Own the project from concept all the way through technician training and startup.
  • Manage capital projects to improve control systems, electrical systems, and automation.
  • Actively manages scope, cost, and schedule of a project to ensure delivery of all success criteria.
  • Follows and leverages the proper engineering and project management tools and work processes.
  • Develops deep mastery in selected areas of technology.
  • Actively seeks out cost reduction and innovation opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL
  • This position may require some domestic and possibly international travel (est. 5%)


Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
    Preferred:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automation engineering position is desired.
  • Battery, Consumer Products, High Speed Assembly, or similar industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with automated controls technologies. This could include PLC systems, control and communication networks, SCADA (server and standalone) systems, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, Vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor and effect or technologies.
