Position OverviewA Construction Schedule Expert advises on construction schedules to ensure they are realistic and/or on means to expedite large, complex projects across the Pacific, including USA facilities at host nation bases, new basing actions, and exercise-related facility improvements). Also provides program management support for a wide variety of project-specific issues associated with these military construction (MILCON) projects in the Pacific.
Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: - Must be a US citizen.
- This position requires an active NACI clearance or the ability to obtain a NACI clearance to be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Current with the latest construction estimating/scheduling technology and techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of construction principles.
- Excellent organizational skills for construction project management and presenting findings to SMEs at construction companies and architectural/engineering (A/E) firms.
- Excellent, professional written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of WBDG, UFC, AFI, and other resources.
- Experience with similar projects (e.g., new aircraft parking aprons, hangars, aviation support facilities, fuel systems, fire protection, secure space, extensive earthwork, etc.).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD-issued CAC card (i.e., NACI/SF85)
- PMP is a plus.
- Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Construction Specialist, Project Manager, or Program Analyst.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Participates in in-process reviews for project planning, design, and execution throughout the construction lifecycle including:
- Participates in project planning and design reviews (i.e. 35%, 65%, 95%) and construction milestones.
- Develops construction schedules using various methods, including Primavera and Microsoft Project.
- Analyzes project schedules developed by other professionals/ contractors and document risks and recommendations.
- Identifies and researches factors affecting project costs and schedule.
- Provides forensic analysis and documentation as needed.
- Gathers relevant documents; independently researches industry best practices.
- Works with project managers and other consultants to find ways to reduce costs/schedule without endangering the success of the project.
- Creates and maintains strong relationships with clients.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
