OVERVIEW: The Director of Performance brings together our team of biddable media experts in Mobile, Search, Social, and Programmatic to ensure seamless integration of acquisition-led efforts into overall Planning, Data Strategy, Analytics, and Content disciplines on behalf of one of the most iconic global performance brands.
Embedded within our Wavemaker team, you will bring to bear GroupM's position as a market leader to inform, shape, and implement the most advanced performance strategy and solutions to unlock new growth opportunities across channels for your client.
As the central voice of performance for our client, the Director of Performance is responsible for translating our client's business briefs into Performance jobs to be done, ensure collaboration across channels to maximize client outcomes, lead performance projections and scenarios based on campaign parameters, and embody the spirit of the craft by serving as 'player-coach' when overseeing the flawless execution of campaigns.
This role will also be tasked with identifying product or solution opportunities based on client needs and collaborate with the GroupM Nexus leadership in North America to infuse the best of our network capabilities into our client's day-to-day deliverables.
As our Director of Performance, you will:
- Serve as central point of contact for client stakeholders to represent all things performance media and proactively support other disciplines in client interactions
- Possess advanced expertise in Search or Programmatic, with a working knowledge of all biddable platforms and experience with incrementality focused outcomes
- Develop acquisition strategies and models to support our client growth, and directly inform brand building strategies to augment total business outcomes
- Represent Wavemaker's Positive Provocation approach in cross-agency environments and champion the collaboration with our data, content, and creative counterparts
- Own client facing campaign and performance presentations or deliverables, as well as lead the activation and optimization initiatives across all biddable teams
- Drive improvements in acquisition and prospecting results across multiple channels with an emphasis on Mobile App Installs and Paid Search
- Oversee cross-channel testing and optimization strategies to ultimately develop custom full funnel impact hypothesis

BEST THINGS ABOUT THE ROLE: - Ability to work with a highly dynamic client, across a new win for the agency and the opportunity to partner with extremely media savvy stakeholders to generate strong performance outcomes across channels, tactics & platforms.
- Partner closely with channel specialists, Investment & Planning teams and infuse a mixture of proven tactics to deliver on performance goals with a proactive & innovative mindset to generate new learnings that positively impact client business objectives.
- Support development of team processes related to media activations and cross-channel optimization approaches, as well as clearly outlined testing roadmaps that represent each line of business for the client.
- Collaborate and inform product roadmap and tools that will help achieve better performance outcomes, leaning into more automation, AI decision making and the ability to derive actionable insights regularly.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of 8 years of work experience in digital media (or a relevant field)
- Experience working in large performance or acquisition teams
- Experience across multiple biddable platforms (Search, Social, Programmatic)
- Strong operational, client engagement and delivery skills
- Comfortable translating complex data into simple and relevant strategic insights
- Team player with a strong desire to collaborate and contribute
- Affinity with the idea of making advertising work better for people
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and business judgement skills to prioritize critical tasks
- Strong understanding of the media investment, ad tech and agency ecosystem

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
