Position Summary: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement
of goods and services necessary for the daily operations of the district. This role involves
managing purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws
and regulations, and working closely with various departments to meet their needs efficiently
and cost-effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or
a related field
• Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional Public Buyer
(CPPB), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO)) is preferred
Experience:
• Five (5) years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management,
preferably in an educational or public sector setting. Experience managing large-scale
purchasing operations is highly desirable.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
• Public Purchasing certification preferred; NIGP-CPP, CPPB, CPPO
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
