If you want to work on cutting edge Air Force programs, Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco is seeking a talented System Engineer to join the team onsite at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio (No telework/remote work at this location).

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret security clearance.

This position supports the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) Program Office with cutting edge development / modernization, and ongoing sustainment of a variety of GPS receivers and user equipment to meet DoD and national-level priorities.

In this role, you will:
  • Duties will include assisting with planning, executing and controlling technical aspects of acquisition programs
  • Will work both independently and with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to develop and present technical briefings and lead technical meetings/reviews
  • Will serve as a technical advisor to government personnel
  • Potential for liaison work with other Program Offices, and operational units.
  • Responsible for providing technical management and engineering support services (both independently and as a functional team member) to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of multiple GPS modernization programs. Services include some or all the following:
    • Assist with development of systems engineering requirements, program strategies, statements of work and systems engineering plans
    • Conducting engineering trade studies and technical analyses
    • Evaluating, planning, and conducting development/integration/fielding activities required to integrate modernized GPS systems onto Air Force and DoD platforms
    • Assessing civil and military mandates associated with Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing requirements
    • Reviewing/analyzing technical proposals, directives
    • Evaluating OEM technical performance and proposed solutions to ensure satisfaction of Gov't requirements

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A U.S. citizenship
  • The ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoD Secret security clearance
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 8 years related experience
  • Experience with Modern Systems Engineering and Requirements Management processes (i.e. Model Based Systems Engineering, etc)
  • Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering process/environment
  • The ability to travel 10%


Additional desired skills and qualifications:
  • Eligibility for TS Clearance
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 10 years related experience
  • Experience with modern aircraft avionics/navigational systems integration and communications bus structures
  • Experience with software-intensive electronic commodities
  • DAU/DAWIA Certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development & Engineering
