Description Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking a
Software Development Engineer who will be part of a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NextGen Air Traffic program.
Functions include: • Real-Time Programming on High Availability Systems
• Multi-threaded programming
• Low Level Operating Systems Customization (RedHat, AIX)
• Low level communication software (TCP-IP, UDP, SCTP)
• System Maintenance Concepts
• Front and Backend LEAF architecture and design
Software Development Engineer Responsibilities: - Detailed knowledge of Linux OS and OS concepts desirable.
- Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control software (primarily Ada95/C++) on a UNIX/Linux platform.
- There are a number of support/maintenance functions that utilize PERL/PYTHON.
- Coordinate Solutions with Systems Engineering
- Coordinate the development of new capabilities and upgrade to common services provided the applications via APIs.
- CAS Integration Concepts ERAM Tools Development
- LEAF support on various FAA centric programs, demos and opportunities as needed
- Provide teaching / mentoring to junior levels
- Act as a leader and an AWS/cloud service expert
- Collaborate with team members across multiple areas
- Provide leadership and guidance to support functions
- Other software development related duties as assigned
Qualifications:- Requires Bachelors of Science degree (Computer Science or Computer Engineering Degree) and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
- US Citizenship Required
- Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.

Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
