As a Senior Weapons Strike Analyst you will…
- Develop and apply models and simulations to evaluate strike weapons and aircraft operating in denied environments with the goal of discovering useful information, advising conclusions, and supporting DoD investment decisions
- Work with a small team including junior analysts who will benefit from your experience, and senior engineers with whom you will guide the direction of high-profile DoD projects
- Engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward independent initiative
- Have the opportunity to present your work through briefings to both technical specialists and pivotal decision makers
QualificationsYou’ll meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Aerospace, Electrical, or other form of Engineering
- Have demonstrated ability performing analysis with mission-level tools such as AFSIM, EADSIM, SUPPRESSOR, or JIMM on the survivability and effectiveness of strike weapon systems
- Are highly skilled in learning new and exciting technical topics
- Can work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate complex ideas to a variety of partners
- Are proficient to fluent in a programming or scripting language such as MATLAB or Python
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship
You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you…
- Have a Master’s degree or PhD in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Aerospace, Electrical, or other form of Engineering
- Have extensive knowledge of strike weapon systems and aircraft – how they’re built, how they operate, and how they collaborate with each other and additional offensive warfare platforms
- Have demonstrated excellence leading mission-level modeling, simulation & analysis
- Have an active Top Secret security clearance
- Have demonstrated effective experience leading and mentoring other staff

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Minimum Rate$90,000 Annually
Maximum Rate$330,000 Annually
