Verndale Ind School Dist 818 Verndale Public School is currently accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE K-12 Career and Technical Education/STEM Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents/guardians and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Teacher Responsibilities

• Developing STEM curriculum
• Planning daily lessons
• Providing innovative elective high school courses
• Developing STEM learning activities and hands-on material for classes
• Communicating regularly with parents
• Providing support to students
• Using learner data to constantly refine your curriculum
• Provide regular feedback to students
• Introducing STEM activities to elementary and high school classes
• Incorporate the New Art and Science of Teaching into classroom practice

Teacher Requirements

• Valid MN Teaching License
• Knowledge of STEM best practices
• Empathy and great interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with basic computer programs
• Previous STEM experience is preferred but not required
• Good classroom management skills
• The ability to work with co-workers to develop, refine and implement curriculum
