Specialist, Mechanical EngineeringLocation: Simi Valley, CAThe Specialist Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval. Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigates solutions to product or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Conducts investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications or requirements. Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements. We are seeking an experienced professional with proficient knowledge of the job area and practical knowledge of project management. You may manage projects or processes with general supervision and communicate with contacts inside and outside of your own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. You will be responsible for recommending enhancements to systems and processes and work to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Qualifications:- Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Proven CAD experience, particularly in SolidWorks/PDM.
- Proficiency in ASME Y14.5M-1994 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- The Ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:- Preferred analysis experience in ANSYS Mechanical, SolidWorks Flow and SolidWorks Simulation.
- CAD experience in Creo and AutoCAD.
- Travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, the salary range for this role is $81,500-151,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
