Apogee Research's STITCHES toolchain has demonstrated networking aircraft into composed mission capabilities at record speed, with applications to distributed target tracking, long range fires, and coordinated electronic warfare. Based on this success, our customers are increasingly funding us to extend this integration to include proliferated LEO satellites. Accordingly, we are looking to hire Software, Research, or Experimentation engineers to focus on integrating tactical space assets into multi-domain mission capabilities, covering topics such as: coordinating sensor looks and data distribution across domains; dynamic networking that handles the constant motion of satellites and aircraft and constraints of legacy and modern networking systems; and building interfaces that let operators manage hundreds of platforms efficiently.
This job will provide the opportunity to travel to support demonstrations and tests with operationally relevant hardware.
The position is located in our Arlington, VA office (
full-time in person). Existing
DoD Top Secret clearance is extremely desirable, otherwise all candidates must be eligible to obtain one and therefore all candidates must be a
US citizen to apply.
Position Responsibilities:- Create capabilities for coordinated effects between tactical satellites and other domains
- Depending on the expertise and desires of the candidate, this can focus on algorithm design, software implementation, integration with relevant hardware, or combinations of these
- Test the capabilities through a combination of simulation and testing with satellites and aircraft relevant to the US military
- Demonstrate applicability across a wide range of missions and identify gaps to drive future development
- Create documentation and test suites to help warfighters and co-contractors leverage our solutions
Minimum Qualifications- Experience building capabilities deployed onto fielded hardware
- Experience working on space capabilities or experience working on related capabilities in other domains with a demonstrated ability to think across domains
- Deep technical expertise in a relevant field. Examples include:
- For a software focus, high proficiency in a language such as C++ or Java and experience with efficiently implementing algorithms and/or deploying software onto hardware
- For an algorithmic focus, understanding relevant phenomenology (sensors, networking, etc.) and a track record of deploying algorithms to address real world problems
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and remain well organized in a fast-paced environment
