Position Summary
Spanish Broadcasting System is looking for a creative, organized, motivated, curious individual with strong editorial, logistical and leadership skills to fill a Producer role in the Oscar Haza show. As the Producer, you will be responsible for working with reporters to obtain information, write scripts, build graphics and deliver compelling live shots and packages on tight deadlines. You will aggressively seek out additional information and pitch stories. While working in the field, you will be responsible for leading the team, balancing management requests, crew needs and station requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Writing and copy-editing scripts for productions.
- Select images, sound bites, and other elements for videos.
- Monitoring pre-production, production, and post-production processes to ensure accurate completion of all details including: Scripting, shooting of b-roll & interviews, scouting and reserving locations for recordings (including getting written permits when necessary), researching facts, contacts & stats, ordering graphics, coordinating editing.
- Remain read-in and familiar with daily developments on stories from politics and breaking news to entertainment.
- Work with reporter to set up interviews, ask questions, and obtain information to craft and produce live shots and packages.
- Communicating with teams and supervisors to discuss production goals, progress and ensure production objectives are being met.
- Reviewing products before final delivery to ensure quality & accuracy.
- Work with editors to make sure we deliver visually compelling stories.
- Resolve issues that arise during the production process by acting as a liaison between dissenting parties when necessary.
- The Producer has a willingness to learn and explore beyond their core.
- He or she is responsible for communication with necessary production, creative and account service people to facilitate workflow.
- He or she is responsible for collaborating on innovative ideas and taking them from concept through execution and delivery.
- Be a tireless advocate for the creative process, so that the best ideas come to life, while always looking for the best way to provide solutions on time and budget.
- Attend briefing, kick off, pre pro and review meetings.
- You will serve as the production lead for specific project assignments from the ideation of content through pre-production, production, post-production and distribution to the final audience.
- Managing the day-to-day operations and timelines of projects and creative teams internally.
- Building relationships with all vendors to support creative projects and oversee the logistics management for project operations.
- Managing client's expectations and giving recommendations when required.
- Responsible for all aspects of pre-production, production and postproduction.
- Presents production budgets and schedules and addresses production related questions for internal and external clients.
- Provides input for director and vendor selection process.
- Directs activities (casting, shooting, creating product) of staff and/or external parties involved in production activities.
- Arranges for timely delivery of materials to Agency and clients.
- Responsible for projects from initial pitch, through discovery, concepting, design, development, and QA final deliverables.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years radio broadcast experience is required.
- Being a self-starter who can work independently, as well as a team player.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis, and especially in breaking news situations.
- Knowledge with TV broadcast operations.
- A base knowledge of industry talent and vendors.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- FCC General Class license or SBE certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Work involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work requires to be able to climb ladders, and work in small places.
