    Job Requirements
  • Requested Skill Set: Med/Surg Experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IV’s, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, & chest tubes.
  • Must have: Active RN license, BLS certification
    Schedule Information
  • Scheduling requirements: 3 12 hours shifts/week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4 week schedule
  • Floating policy: Contract labor is first to float; go by rotation when there are multiple C/L staff scheduled
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit Specifics: Number of Beds : 20
  • Patient Ratios : 6:1
  • Unit staffing description- Tech support on day shift and night shift. Unit secretary 7a-7p.
  • Type of equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCD’s, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Floating policy: Contract labor is first to float; go by rotation when there are multiple C/L staff scheduled
  • Patient Experience requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients/family members. Bedside shift report, ability to make personal connections with patients and include them/family members in their plan of care.
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
  • Consider items such as new equipment or technology, tenure and experience of staff, schedule options, etc.
