SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide on-site Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS). This role supports the Engineering and Design Division (D4) of the Design and Construction Business Line (DCBL) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare detailed designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, energy systems, control systems, utility systems, and more.
- Support projects of major size and complexity, including MILCON scope, for use in government facilities such as offices, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and waterfront structures.
- Provide mechanical engineering services for diverse projects, including renewable energy systems, power distribution, air pollution control, and process piping systems.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and Navy guide specifications, industry codes and standards, and local, state, federal, and foreign country laws affecting mechanical engineering design.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and other engineering disciplines to ensure system coordination and integration with project requirements.
- Provide independent and professional specialized mechanical engineering support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.
Qualifications include:
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering is desired.
- Completion of a course of studies accredited by ABET for a Mechanical Engineering program, supplemented by hands-on facilities design experience, preferred.
- Professional knowledge and skill in mechanical engineering theories, concepts, principles, and computer applications relevant to construction projects and mechanical utility systems.
- Familiarity with ASME standards, ASHRAE standards, National Fire Protection Association Codes, SMACNA Standards, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, and International Building Code.
- Proficiency in Autodesk software, Microsoft Office products, and mechanical engineering design and analysis software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for analysis, presentation, and coordination with project teams.
- Knowledge of budgeting, planning, project management techniques, and safety policies and procedures.
Work Environment
- Availability to work on-site during standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
