Job DescriptionThe Production Shows Lead - Vocal oversees the rehearsals and cast changes for Carnival's award-winning production shows. Directly manages Rehearsal Supervisors (who teach performers vocals and/or choreography at Carnival Studios) and Fleet Cast Managers (who travel ship-to-ship to assist in the transfer from one cast to another). Coaches Supervisors and contributes to and maintains a positive working environment inspiring team morale. Liaises between shipboard & Studio teams to ensure accountability and streamlined feedback. Works closely with Cast Managers to nurture and develop career path. Jointly responsible for Supervisor and Contractor scheduling for Studio and shipboard rehearsals/install. These contributions positively influence our guests' overall entertainment experience.
Job Functions: - Directly responsible for training Supervisors: provide feedback and direction in rehearsals including style and showmanship, character development, motivation, director's intent, notes/corrections. Manage the process of ensuring timely and accurate delivery of music charts, tracks, and general updates of any deliverables to our Supervisors for effective and full execution of all shows
- Develop and communicate cast expectations, motivate, and inspire cast members to reach their full potential, instilling Carnival Values
- Partner with and directly manage Fleet Cast Supervisors on successful transition of casts from studios to the ships, including review cast strengths and opportunities.
- Coordinate with the rest of The Carnival Studios team to build rehearsal schedules, confirm staffing and support technical needs (I.E.M., pre-records, Vocal Rest Tracks, costumes, props, etc.)
- Teach vocals or choreography to shipboard cast members in rehearsals in order to prepare them for successfully performing in several multi-million-dollar production shows across Carnival's fleet of ships.
- Deliver leadership training to shipboard Cast Managers and offer guidance and support to continue to develop them.
- Jointly responsible for maintaining artistic integrity by being a point person for show alterations call, updating show-specific training materials including blocking and/or vocal books.
- Establish and maintain best practices for a safe and fun rehearsal and install process by inspiring and motivating team members.

Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in music, dance, theatre or performing arts required
- Work Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in musical theatre, dance, cruise entertainment or comparable industry, preferably in a teaching or supervisorial role required. Minimal of three years' teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Thorough knowledge of musical repertoire and/or various choreography styles
- A quick study who can deliver material in a clear, concise and inspiring way
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and computer networking infrastructure
- General understanding of Theatre/Cruise operations
- Stage Write software a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Project management with strategic thinking applied to complex problems
- Competent multi-tasking, balancing short and long-term objectives
- Motivated and independent worker
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% travel

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift. Other job specific working conditions.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
