A Brief Overview
The Staff Business Information Architect is responsible for designing and managing the information architecture of the organization. This role involves developing strategies and frameworks to ensure that data is structured, stored, and utilized effectively to support business objectives. This individual will ensure all requirements to fully solve the intended problems are met and all impacts (people, process, and tools) are understood and cared for. This critical role will build high-trust partnerships with stakeholders and partners to overcome obstacles and collaborate on solutions throughout initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.

What you will do
  • Information Architecture Design
    • Develop and maintain the organization's information architecture framework.
    • Design data models, data flows, and data integration processes.
    • Ensure that information architecture aligns with business goals and IT strategies.
  • Discovery & Analysis
    • Facilitate concept exploration, including opportunity and feasibility assessment.
    • Gather and synthesize initiative business requirements, in partnership subject matter experts for business requirement validation.
    • Document current and ideal states and perform gap analysis to inform necessary roadmap to achieve ideal state.
    • Drive comprehensive end-to-end impact analysis at the beginning of efforts, including people, process, and tools, to ensure all aspects of the change are designed, managed, and prepared for throughout the initiative lifecycle.
  • Solution Design
    • Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies.
    • Ensure seamless integration of data across various systems and platforms.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and optimize data solutions.
  • Data Modeling & Design
    • Develop and maintain conceptual data models.
    • Design data flows and data integration processes.
    • Ensure data models and designs align with business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Work closely with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to understand information needs and requirements.
    • Promote information architecture best practices across the organization.
    • Communicate information architecture goals, progress, and outcomes to senior management.
  • Relationships & Stakeholder Management
    • Build relationships with stakeholders and partners
    • Partner with organizations impacted by change to ensure comprehensive delivery
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of information architecture.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes as needed.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in information architecture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field

Experience Qualifications
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in information architecture, data management, or a related field or
  • Typically 8+ years experience in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Strategic Program Management, Enterprise Transformation efforts
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Relevant regulatory knowledge in a specific industry (e.g. finance, healthcare) a plus

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of information architecture frameworks, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Solid grasp of business objectives and requirements and convert them into solution designs and/or project plans.
  • Experience planning and deploying business initiatives or participating in enterprise-wide projects.
  • Critical thinking, the ability to break complex problems down into component parts and solve issues creatively.
  • Strong change management experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to inform decision making.
  • Ability to summarize and present complex topics effectively to a wide audience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines, and to maintain effectiveness and professionalism when experiencing change in work tasks and/or the work environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization to drive impactful results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels in an organization.
  • Collaboration skills with the ability to form trusted relationships, including key internal and external partners to achieve common goals.
  • Experience building business cases and assessing return on investment.
  • Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
  • Experience with data management tools and technologies.
  • Highest level of integrity and discretion in managing of confidential information.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certification in information architecture or data management (e.g., TOGAF, CDMP)

The salary range for this role is $96,200 to $230,800. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.
