Overview As a Sonographer at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake, you'll provide good quality examinations on patients using various ultrasound equipment. The Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
Every day, you will perform various tests on patients. You'll apply your independent judgment relative to all technical imaging procedures for patients.
To thrive in this role, you are self-motivated, and able to take ownership of projects/assignments; you understand sonography methods and are capable of performing venipuncture as required for position. You're able to demonstrate ability to set and maintain multiple tasks in an environment with shifting priorities, while providing accurate deliverables in a timely fashion. You're a team player with excellent follow-up and customer service skills including strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills to provide excellence to both guests and team members.

Responsibilities - Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
- Correctly operates ultrasound equipment within scope of practice.
- Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones.
- Assists physicians with biopsy procedures, guided biopsy instruments using sonographic techniques.
- Able to utilize electronic health records including utilizing PACS and the essential functions of the system.
Qualifications - Currently enrolled in, or graduate of, a Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiology Technology program or graduate of a post-secondary allied health profession program and on-the-job training with registered sonographer.
- North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy State License (Sonographer: ND).
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - ARDMS board certification - within 12 months
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledgeable in basic computer skills, PACS and Meditech
Preferred: - Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiology or Ultrasonography.
- ARDMS Registered or registry eligible.
