Job Summary:The Senior Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, and company policies and practices. This role will be a coach and guide to people leaders and employees, conduct on-boarding and off-boarding, manage employee relations, lead talent initiatives, support learning and development, and be a key team player on the HR team. This role will oversee a Talent Acquisition Specialist. The Sr/Human Resource Manager ensures that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed.
Scope of job: This is a partner to Senior leaders, mid-level management, and individual contributors for all related people matters. This role will primarily support our Retail, Marketing, Product Development, and corporate teams consisting of approximately 350 employees and growing as we launch new store openings, expand eCommerce, and build our brand teams. This role will build systems, tools, and standard operating procedures including administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry (ADP Workforce NOW). Will handle confidential information and must maintain confidentiality, and professionalism. This is a hands-on player/coach role on the team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department.
- Oversees and completes the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and coaching to front line managers and directors.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Partners with the leadership to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and strategic workforce and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Oversee a Talent Acquisition Specialist and build an employer brand to attract top talent.
- Creates learning and development program(s) providing internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; assists leaders in such cases.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Completes New Hire Orientation, HR Forms including I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files, and HR files.
- Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks and drug testing.
- Audits payroll, benefits, or other HR programs.
- Set up and maintain various HR Metrics reporting: such as turnover, time to fill, employee engagement, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and recent technologies in human resources, talent management practices, and employment law.
- Prepares new-employee files, profiles in ADP, and term files.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- ADP Workforce Now; Core HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and Time & Attendance experience preferred.
Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or HCI certification(s) highly desired.
