Assesses and supports physical symptoms, provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practices, and maintains professional disposition at all times. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED Experience: Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan) Licensure/ Certification: Current American Heart Association HeaLhCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date of employment. Other Skills/ Knowledge: N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BSN Experience: Experience as an RN in a rehab care setting Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other Skills/ Knowledge: Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Works at the highest level of licensure by providing qualiy competent care, following best practice standards, working to achieve care goals and qualiy outcomes, and following the standards of care set by the state board of nursing. Provides effective leadership in the delivery of qualiy nursing care by assessing, planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions and collaborating with the patient to implement their plan of care. Maintains confidential status of medical records and maintains documentation standards with accurate, timely, and complete recording and reporting. Acts autonomously as a vital component of the care team while delegating appropriate responsibiliy to the skill level of the employee and identifies patient care needs to accomplish a high standard of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team functioning as an advocate for those we serve. Creates compassionate, service-oriented environment by following the nursing process in providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and caregivers. Provides a learning atmosphere by sharing knowledge with coworkers/orientation of new staff and by educating patients and their families to meet their heath needs. Participates in the qualiy and process improvements at OSF to attain clinical excellence. Promotes financial stewardship by assisting with cost reduction without sacrificing qualiy.
