JOB SUMMARY: A Produce Clerk at the Dill Pickle is responsible for assisting customers with their shopping needs both in the department and in the store as a whole. Produce Clerk duties include keeping the Produce sales floor as well as all related backstock in a clean, safe, orderly, and properly rotated fashion. In addition to assisting with receiving shipments, cleaning, and general department maintenance.
JOB DESCRIPTION: - Greeting and providing exceptional customer service to all customers within the department.
- Receive, process and stock inventory within grocery departments, to include bins, shelves and coolers.
- Ensuring proper merchandising standards of the sales floor to ensure delivery of an attractive, well-organized shopping experience for customers.
- Maintain department cleanliness of the sales floor and department warehouse areas.
- Assist Buyers, Grocery Manager, and Store Manager in creation of attractive displays and seasonal merchandising changes.
- Ensure pricing accuracy of all department merchandise.
- Maintain organized and clearly labeled overstock according to co-op standards.
- Perform product rotation for freshness, using the "first in/first" out process and regular checking of expiration dates.
- Notify department managers of damaged or malfunctioning equipment and unsellable merchandise and disposing of product according to The Dill Pickle Co-op policy.
- Ensure back stock is stored and labeled in an organized manner for easy access and rotation.
- Clean display cases, refrigerator glass and interiors, shelves and aisles.
- Assist with quarterly inventory count.
- Required training on front end procedures (Cashiering and Mercato )and assistance upon request.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Experience preferred but not required.
- Nights and weekend availability required
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to reason and apply logic for resolve of common workplace issues.
- Able to pass a criminal local/state/federal background screening.
- Eligible to work within the USA.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Communication skills - good listener, asks questions.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach and lift repeatedly for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in adverse Grocery temperatures.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to work with cleaning supplies and chemicals with appropriate protective gear.
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to changing needs of business.
