POSITION SUMMARY:
Familiar with different silo product types. Ensure proper material and weight is loaded for each shipment. Prior to loading product, inspect truck trailers and railcars to ensure they are free from contaminants.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Operations
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of truck and rail traffic.
- Unload fuel cars.
- Assist production team members as needed.
- Complete daily equipment check reports.
- Complete bill of lading for truck and rail shipments.
- Assist with training of any new employees and/or new equipment.
- Assist in plant cleanup of production areas as needed.
- Perform kiln outage work, as needed.
- Familiar with capacity of load out related equipment.
- Responsible for charging fuel bins with the proper fuel blend.
- Familiar with layout of fuel yard.
- Responsible for accurate silo inventory measurements.
- Ensure different product types are distributed into the appropriate trucks/rail cars.
- Understand process and layout of the plant.
- Ability to cross train in other production areas as needed.
Maintenance and quality control
- Clean bins, conveyers, spills, clean out material from under conveyers and catwalks, and other cleaning duties as needed.
- Keep rail and truck scales clean.
- Responsible for maintaining a water free environment from coal unloading pit and scales.
- Possess basic hand tools and be able to make minor adjustments to load-out related equipment.
- Continuously observe, monitor, and report any condition that could lead to equipment failure or a housekeeping issue.
- Understanding of material storage and quality specifications.
- Must be able to perform physical inspections of load out/fuel yard area and related equipment.
Safety
- Perform all assigned work in a neat and orderly manner adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations.
- Know and follow lock out tag out procedures.
- Understand safe operation of heavy equipment including shuttle wagon, front end loader, forklift, bobcat, and tractor.
- Must have a high regard for other's safety in the field.
- Proper PPE attire must be worn as required.
- Wear the appropriate PPE when working with truck/rail equipment.
- Understand the chemical reaction and safety hazards associated with lime production.
- Report any potential operational or safety problems to supervisor.
ATTRIBUTES: - Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
- Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
- Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate computers and related controls.
- Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to multi-task and be calm under pressure.
- Good decision making skills regarding safety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds
- Demonstrated skills of heavy equipment operation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truck
- History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record
- Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
- Must be able to perform in compliance with all task training requirements
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate a computer preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE: - Experience in an industrial background preferred.
