Machine Operators with Packaging/Extrusion skills needed - 12 hour shifts, 6 pm - 6:30 am. POSITION SUMMARY: Sets-up and operates extrusion machine to produce high quality product. Monitors and records machine temperature, gauge settings and die openings. Monitors the color, dimensions, and uniformity of the material, making necessary adjustments to meet customer requirements. Changes jets, tees, and wipe packs as necessary. Inspects finished product to ensure production quality. Performs light maintenance on machine when needed.RESPONSIBILITIES:•Monitor equipment operation, gauges, and panel lights to detect deviations from standards & adjust gauges, PLC's, and all other operational controls, to correct deviations. Adjust controls in order to activate, set and regulate equipment according to specifications.•Do various lab techniques and sampling.•Able to hook up CIP lines to cyclones, transitions, and fluid bed properly.•Record gauge readings, test results, and shift production on quality and production documentation.•Transport materials and products to and from work areas, manually, or by pallet jacks and forklifts.•Weigh or measure specified amounts of ingredients or materials for batching, using devices such as scales and pumps.•Clean, lubricate and maintain a sanitary condition of all processing equipment, utilizing chemicals, automatic and manual cleaning equipment.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS•Conditions include exposure to constant or intermittent noise. Ear plugs are required. In addition, there is exposure to conditions such as dusts, chemicals, and allergens that can affect the respiratory system, eyes or, the skin. Safety gear including hard hats is required for bump protection and to prevent exposure to potential contaminants.IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS•Communication and collaboration daily with co-workers, shift supervisors, plant manager, quality department personnel. •Works with a culturally diverse work force.
