What You Will Do: The
Material Handle rwill participate in all warehouse activities and receive and process stock according to standard operating procedures.
- Help drive compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse
- Assist with inventory counts and planning
- Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ensure materials or containers are moved.
- Opens containers.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys the load to its destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move it to its destination.
- Counts, weighs and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on the daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- To facilitate the movement of materials or products, clamp sections of a portable conveyor together or place conveyor sections on blocks or boxes.
- Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
- Make simple adjustments or repairs like realigning belts or replacing rollers.
- Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
What You Bring: - High school diploma; Associates degree preferred
- At least two years of previous warehouse experience
- Forklift certification and reach truck driving experience preferred
- Solution focused and process improvement driven
- Proven ability to develop relationships with internal partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Bonus points if you bring experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement
