Performs duties that support the operation of the nursing unit.Responsibilities:Provides age appropriate care for the patient population served.Uses appropriate resources for patients with special needsIntegrates principles of infection prevention into practice.Responsible for stocking all patient care rooms, closets at the beginning of the shift and ordering necessary supplies.Check the blanket/fluid warmer outside the OR for outdated materials: stock with blankets, sheets, gowns. Date solutions and record warmer temperature.Dock Neptune and restock cartridgesBring a bed from Mother Baby and place it outside the OR for C/Section.Maintains equipment room: ensure equipment is clean and organized, peanut balls/birthing balls are cleaned and bagged, all monitors are cleaned and bagged, instruments are organized.Stock and prepare vaginal delivery tableAfter delivery: makes an icepack, provide beverage as requested, bring infant scale to room, remove delivery table, deliver used instruments to Sterile Processing.Pick up sterile supplies from Sterile Processing.Additional Responsibilities: ensure soiled utility room is clean/orderly. Maintain placenta refrigerator (discard placentas after 7 days, and remove placenta triage forms). Take placentas to lab, restock Formalin.Secure HUGS tags and stocked baby cribsOpen OR for c/s utilizing sterile techniqueAssist nursing staff with vital signs, fetal monitor, bedside glucose monitoring as directed by RNAssists with entering lab results into PENN chartCredentials:Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) 44504Certified Nurse AidCertified Nursing Assistant Education or Equivalent Experience:H.S.
