Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure that the bathrooms, hallways, kitchens, and other areas of the facility are kept clean on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs routine maintenance activities including heavy cleaning duties, i.e. Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming floors.
  • Respond to maintenance requests, including light repairs.
  • Move furniture, when needed.
  • Unpack and stock supplies for the cafeterias and kitchenette.
  • Takes action without being asked or required to; achieves goals beyond job requirements; is proactive; takes prompt action to accomplish objectives.
  • Monitors and checks work to meet quality standards; and demonstrate a high level of care and thoroughness; checks work to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Supervise custodial staff in the basic level of cleaning and maintenance required to maintain three facilities.
  • Ensure satisfactory completion of all custodial work.
  • Oversee the safety of subordinates. In the absence substitute for custodians as needed.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Two - Four years of janitorial experience is required with at least two years in a supervisory position.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driver's license of fewer- than -6 points is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages staff and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, working days and hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. No holidays and weekends are required.

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Environmental exposure to excessive noise, around moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and/or humidity, dust, fumes, or gases, driving motorized equipment, and working in confined quarters.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
