summary SUMMARY:This occupation requires performing manual and clerical duties in loading and unloading shipments. Check and verify incoming and outgoing shipments, quantities, condition, identity of parts, and weight of material with receiving pack slip. Prepare parts for shipment, package, load and secure. Able to operate fork-lift and company trucks to 1 tons, for pick up and deliveries in local and LA areas. Requires moderate physical exertion, lifting, bending, considerable time standing and assisting other co-workers in the performance of their duties. RESPONSIBILITIES: Unload materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment from carriers and company vehicles.Route items in receiving to proper destinations within the plant. Segregate discrepant items or shipments and process according to standard procedure. Identify materials, parts, tools and items, marking, tagging, and/or coding. Be able to operate fork-lift and company trucks to 1 tons. Make pick up and deliveries in local and LA areas. Count, package and protect parts and tooling for shipment. Construct pallets and crates for shipment of items. Check loading and unloading of equipment/parts for safety. Balance and secure load to company vehicles or carriers and double check to ensure equip/parts are securely stretch wrapped and/or strapped to prevent damage or loss. Check all lift trucks and company vehicle tires, brakes, lights, gas, water and oil level, and cleanliness of vehiclesinterior and exterior. Notify supervisor of any repairs or maintenance needed. Handle necessary paperwork. Verify pickup and delivery orders by checking description, part/tool numbers, and quantities. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum two (2) years' experience preferred in manufacturing environment of shipping & receiving. Must be able to count accurately.
