As the Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring financial statements are prepared accurately and timely, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry and possess a strong understanding of financial statement preparation, general ledger, balance sheet, internal control, job cost, work-in-progress, percentage of completion, oversight of accounting operations, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Responsibilities: Assists with the accounting operations of the company, including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting transactions Assisting with preparing financial statements accurately and timely following GAAP Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses to support business decisions Monitor and analyze job cost and work-in-progress reports to ensure projects are on budget and on schedule Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data Provide variance analysis and explanations for budget vs. actual results Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, general ledger, balance sheet, internal control, job cost, work-in-progress, percentage of completion, oversight of accounting operations, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word Experience with construction-specific software such as Sage 300 or Viewpoint is a plus.
